I opened up a small store a couple of months ago and I wanted to boost my sales. I can’t afford expensive advertisements and makes me want to go to a fit whenever I think of how I can promote my business. I wanted to have very effective marketing materials without spending a truckload of money.

My priority was to make a promotional item that will always be seen by my customers. But everytime I think of one, my budget always put me into a screeching halt. It was depressing, but I had to think of other ways to do it.

And then I thought of using personalized key chains. I learned that these products are totally inexpensive, even if I make an imprint of my store name or logo on them. So I tried it. I ordered 100 pieces of custom personalized key chains and handed them to my employees, delivery boys, and all the customers who walked in the store.

Three weeks ago, I made my annual inventory and found out that my sales jumped substantially. Because of the personalized promotional key chains, people knew my store and started to buy their items there.

Now I’m planning to make another set of key chains to be given away, in the hopes of attracting more customers. This time, I’ll make bigger and more key chains. I’ll ask a friend to help me in making a more attractive business name or logo design. Why didn’t I think of this before? This is the trick that a rookie business person should know.
